Take EMtopia and UCtopia for a Free Test Drive: A 15-Minute Tour for New APCs and Directors

EMtopia + UCtopia Bootcamp Bundle

Free test drive of EMtopia and UCtopia

Over the past several weeks we have walked through what EMtopia and UCtopia are, how their playbooks are built, the landmines they teach, the decision rules they put at the bedside, and how the Bootcamp track and site licenses turn them into a full orientation program. The best way to judge any of it is to open the apps yourself. Both have free test-drive versions with sample content from every section, and you can try them without buying anything.

A 15-minute tour for new clinicians

If you are a new PA or NP, or about to become one, here is a quick way to see whether the apps fit how you learn.

Start with a complaint you feel shaky on. Open its playbook and read the first ten minutes and the can’t-miss list. Ask yourself whether you would have ranked the dangerous diagnoses the same way.

Watch the narrated video for that playbook. Most are short enough to watch on a break.

Go to the Landmines section. This is where most new clinicians find something they did not know.

Try a calculator inside the playbook, then read who the rule applies to and who it excludes.

Finish with the sample Bootcamp content: a few quiz questions with their rationales and a branching case. That will show you how the structured track works before you decide whether you want it.

A 15-minute tour for directors and lead APCs

If you run an orientation program, look at the test drive through a different lens.

Open two or three playbooks for complaints your department sees every day and compare them with what your current orientation materials say. Look at the local section and think about what you would put there: consult expectations, staffing rules for new clinicians, order sets, and transfer arrangements. Then look at the preceptor check-off sheet and ask whether it could replace the checklist you use now.

The most useful test is to hand the link to your newest APC or your busiest preceptor and ask for honest feedback. They will tell you quickly whether it would have made their orientation easier.

After the test drive

Individual clinicians can upgrade to the full Bootcamp for either setting, or both, with permanent access. Departments and urgent care groups can enroll their clinicians through an annual site license. All options are listed in the APCtopia section of our store, and questions about multi-site groups can go to info@cmereviewcourses.com.

Orientation is the most important stretch of a new clinician’s career, and it should not depend on luck. Take a look and see what you think.
