What This Urgent Care CME Course Covers

The Urgent Care CME module is built around what actually walks through an urgent care door — walk-in acute illness, minor trauma, in-clinic procedures, and the sick-versus-not-sick calls that decide who gets transferred. It is organized into three clinical clusters:

• Respiratory, ENT and infectious complaints — lower respiratory and acute respiratory illness; ear, nose, throat, dental and eye; skin and soft-tissue infection, urinary tract infection, gastrointestinal illness and the febrile patient.
• Musculoskeletal injury, wounds and procedures — fractures, sprains and the imaging decision rules that keep films appropriate; wound care, laceration repair and burns; back, neck and joint pain, plus the procedures done at the bedside in urgent care.
• Abdominal and genitourinary, dermatology and allergy, pediatrics and red-flag triage — abdominal and GU complaints, rashes and allergic reactions, the pediatric walk-in, and the red flags that mean this patient does not belong in urgent care.
