Daily CME Tips: How to Plan Gift Card Add-On Tiers Across a Two-Course CME Bundle, Starting With a PANRE Review Course Worth 100 Category 1 AAPA Credits

Course price: $499.99 for 30 months of access. The PANRE Review Course includes 2,500+ board-style questions and awards up to 100 AAPA Category 1 CME credits for its PANRE Clinical Review Module. Amazon and Apple gift card add-ons are paid, not free. The add-on amount is included in the total purchase price, and the automatic 20% multi-course discount applies to course prices, not gift cards.

When you buy more than one CME course, the useful question is not simply whether to add a gift card. It is which add-on tier to assign to each course, and how that allocation changes your total.

Start with the course subtotal

The PANRE Review Course and the other listed CME courses cost $499.99 each. Add any two or more CME courses to your cart and 20% comes off every course automatically. Gift card add-ons remain at face value, and you can add a card to every course you buy.

That means it helps to calculate in two parts:

  1. Discounted course prices
  2. Undiscounted gift card add-ons

This keeps the tier decision clear. You can choose a higher add-on for one course, distribute smaller tiers across multiple courses, or skip gift cards entirely. First check your employer’s CME policy to confirm how it treats paid gift card add-ons.

Plan tiers by bundle size

CME gift cards from Amazon or Apple come in paid tiers from $100 to $1,500. The selected add-on is paid at face value and does not earn CME credit. Here are worked examples that show how assigning tiers to different courses affects the total.

Purchase planCourse mathGift card allocationTotal
One coursePANRE Review Course: $499.99$200 add-on on the PANRE course$699.99
Two courses$999.98 before discount; $799.98 after 20% off$200 Amazon add-on on PANRE + $200 Apple add-on on the second course$1,199.98
Three courses$1,499.97 before discount; $1,199.98 after 20% off$100 add-ons on two courses; none on the third$1,399.98

For a single-course purchase, the add-on tier increases the total by its face value. For a two-course bundle, splitting two $200 add-ons across the PANRE Review Course and a second course adds $400 to the discounted course subtotal. For a three-course bundle, assigning $100 tiers to two courses adds $200; the third course can remain without an add-on.

The practical takeaway: decide on the overall add-on amount first, then decide whether to concentrate it on one course or spread it across the bundle. Assigning cards to separate courses does not lower their cost or change the discount. It just makes your per-course allocation explicit.

What the PANRE Review Course includes

The PANRE Review Course is built for practicing PAs preparing for the PANRE. Its content includes 2,500+ total board-style questions, with 15 body-system question modules mapped to the NCCPA blueprint, plus five 240-question mock exams with per-question rationales and cited sources. The Cardiovascular module includes 211 questions.

The course also includes video lectures with downloadable slides and a PANRE Readiness Dashboard with topic-level performance tracking, question flagging, unlimited retakes, and an “on track to pass” indicator at 75% or higher. Course content is available as a web app on phone, tablet, or computer.

The PANRE course’s CME credit is specific to its PANRE Clinical Review Module. It does not mean the gift card earns credit, and the 100 credits do not apply to the separate Pharmacology course. Review the course and gift card options for current package details.

Practice question: acute aortic dissection

Your patient is a middle-aged adult with sudden, severe tearing chest pain radiating to the back. The patient has a history of hypertension and a new diastolic murmur. Vitals show hypertension and an inter-arm BP differential. What is the best next step?

Correct answer: Emergent CT angiography of the chest, with urgent cardiothoracic consultation, for suspected acute aortic dissection.

Options:

  • A. Emergent CT angiography of the chest and urgent cardiothoracic consultation
  • B. Serial troponins and a STEMI pathway alone
  • C. Aspirin plus heparin for presumed ACS
  • D. Transthoracic echo alone and outpatient follow-up

Why A is correct: The presentation is concerning for acute aortic dissection and requires urgent diagnostic imaging and consultation. A delay in evaluating the aorta can be consequential.

Why the distractors are incorrect: Serial troponins and a STEMI pathway alone do not rule out dissection. Aspirin and heparin for presumed ACS can be dangerous when dissection is suspected. Transthoracic echo alone does not replace the urgent diagnostic workup in this scenario, and outpatient follow-up is not appropriate.

Exam note: Tearing pain radiating to the back with an arm-to-arm BP differential is the trigger for a dissection workup. Image before you anticoagulate.

Gift card and CME caveats

  • Add-ons are paid: The selected Amazon or Apple card is charged at face value as part of the purchase. The 20% multi-course discount applies to the course prices, not the gift cards.
  • Delivery and refunds: Gift cards are emailed within 2–3 business days of purchase; you do not need to complete the course first. Gift card packages are nonrefundable. CME Review Courses is not affiliated with or sponsored by Amazon or Apple.
  • Approval details: The PANRE Clinical Review Module approval window is 8/26/2026–8/26/2027. Its AAPA reference number is CME-2016187. Claim only credit commensurate with your participation.
  • Program-level accreditation: The accreditation statement covers the full 14-module program designated for 468.75 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. That is a program-level designation, not the credit amount for this individual module. The PANRE Clinical Review Module awards up to 100 AAPA Category 1 CME credits.
  • Completion requirements: Review all module content, pass the module post-test with a score of 70% or higher, and complete the activity evaluation. Missed questions may be retaken. A certificate stating the precise credit earned is issued when complete.
  • For NPs and physicians: Nurse practitioner acceptance of AAPA Category 1 credit varies by state; check with your state board of nursing. For physicians’ own reporting, this activity counts as Category 2 CME. Check NCCPA’s certification maintenance, key dates, and CME requirements pages for current information.
