Plan around the reimbursement cycle, not just the checkout page

If your employer’s CME allowance is replenished on a particular schedule, the timing of your purchase can matter. Before you check out, confirm when those funds will actually be available and when you need to make your purchase to use them. If you buy before the allowance lands, you may need to wait for reimbursement or risk running into your employer’s submission process.

Build in time for approval, too. An employer’s review can take days or weeks, so start the conversation before purchasing. Ask whether the specific course and paid gift card add-on are allowed under your CME policy, and whether your available allowance can cover the total package price. Policy details vary, so verify them directly with your employer.

The add-on is part of the total package price. The entire purchase runs through CME funds in one transaction and as one line item. That can be useful when an employer reimburses one invoice per purchase, but it is still important to confirm that your policy permits the full purchase. The fact that a course offers CME does not establish how your employer treats a gift card add-on.

Get approval before checkout, not after. These cme gift cards are nonrefundable once processed. The Amazon or Apple card is emailed within 2–3 business days of purchase; you do not need to finish the course first. The website is not affiliated with Amazon or Apple.

Know what the course includes, and how credit is earned

The PANRE Review Course includes 2,500+ board-style questions across 15 body-system question modules mapped to the NCCPA PANRE blueprint. That includes a Renal module with 70 questions. It also includes five full-length 240-question mock exams, each with per-question rationale and cited sources, plus high-yield video lectures with downloadable slides.

Use the PANRE Readiness Dashboard to track attempted and correct questions, review per-topic performance, flag questions, and retake questions. It includes an “on track to pass” indicator at 75% or higher. Course content works in a web app on a phone, tablet, or computer; no download is needed.

The up-to-100 AAPA Category 1 credits apply to the PANRE Review Course only, not to the Pharmacology course. The credits are awarded through the PANRE Clinical Review Module, an enduring material activity within Comprehensive Clinical Review for Practicing PAs: 2026–27 Enduring CME Activity. Its AAPA reference number is CME-2016187; approval is valid from August 26, 2026, to August 26, 2027.

To earn credit, review all module content, complete the post-test with a score of 70% or higher, and complete the activity evaluation. Missed questions may be retaken. Your certificate states the precise credit earned; claim only credit commensurate with your participation.

Physicians may find the activity useful; it meets AAPA Category 1 requirements, but physicians report it as Category 2 for their own CME. For nurse practitioners, AAPA Category 1 acceptance for renewal varies by state, so verify requirements with your state board of nursing.

Check the course discount separately

When you buy two or more CME courses, the 20% discount applies automatically to every course. It does not apply to gift card add-ons, which remain at face value. You can add a gift card to every course you buy. Related $499.99 courses include Cardiology, Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Pharmacology, Urgent Care, and PANRE-LA Review Course.

This makes it useful to compare your employer’s available allowance with the course price and selected add-on before requesting approval. Confirm how the discount and add-on fit your policy before you purchase.

Renal module practice question: rhabdomyolysis-induced AKI

You are covering an urgent care/ED shift. A 58-year-old man presents a day after a fall; he was found on the floor at home, with possible prolonged immobilization. He reports diffuse muscle pain, weakness, and dark brown urine. Exam shows proximal muscle tenderness. Labs reveal markedly elevated creatine kinase, elevated creatinine, and elevated potassium. Urinalysis is positive for blood on dipstick but shows only a few RBCs on microscopy. What is the most appropriate initial management?

  • Aggressive IV fluid resuscitation for suspected rhabdomyolysis-induced AKI
  • Discharge with oral hydration and reassurance
  • Urgent CT abdomen to evaluate for an abdominal source
  • Immediate hemodialysis referral before fluids are tried

Aggressive IV fluid resuscitation is the correct answer. The history, muscle injury, dark urine, elevated CK, and AKI support rhabdomyolysis with myoglobinuria. Early fluid resuscitation is the initial management.

Discharge with oral hydration is inadequate for this presentation with elevated creatinine and potassium. An urgent abdominal CT does not address the likely cause suggested by the history and urinalysis. Immediate dialysis is not first-line before fluid resuscitation; dialysis is reserved for complications such as refractory hyperkalemia, acidosis, or volume overload.

Practical exam note: Dipstick-positive blood with few RBCs on microscopy in the setting of muscle injury and dark urine signals heme pigment, often myoglobin. Treat the suspected rhabdomyolysis with fluids; do not jump to dialysis.

This scenario aligns with the course’s Renal module, one of 15 body-system modules and a 70-question component of the PANRE Review Course.
