Daily CME Tips: Three PANRE Mistakes PAs Make in the Final 60 Days Before the Exam, and How a PANRE Review Course Worth 100 Category 1 AAPA Credits (Plus a Paid Gift Card Add-On) Fits the Plan

Course price: $499.99 · Access: 30 months · Practice: 2,500+ board-style questions · CME: up to 100 AAPA Category 1 credits through the PANRE Review Course · Optional paid add-on: $100–$1,500 Amazon or Apple gift card at checkout

The final 60 days before your PANRE or PANRE-LA exam are a time to practice retrieval, target weak areas, and manage deadlines. Passive rereading and unfocused cramming can feel productive without showing whether you can recall and apply information under exam conditions. A short, structured plan can make your study time more useful, and help you complete any CME requirements before the activity approval expires.

Mistake 1: Rereading notes instead of answering timed questions

Rereading is familiar and convenient, but recognizing a fact on a page is not the same as retrieving it during a timed exam. In the final weeks, prioritize active recall: answer questions without notes, commit to an option, then review the rationale and identify what led you to the correct or incorrect choice.

Practical fix: Schedule timed question blocks several times each week. After each block, review missed and flagged questions. Record the underlying gap (such as a diagnostic distinction, treatment sequence, or risk factor) and revisit it after a delay. Keep some practice mixed across systems so you build the habit of switching between topics.

The PANRE Review Course includes 2,500+ board-style questions, five 240-question mock exams, and cited rationales. Use the timed blocks to practice applying knowledge, not just to generate a score. A score is most useful when you review why an answer was right or wrong.

Mistake 2: Studying favorite topics and avoiding your weakest systems

When your study time is limited, it is tempting to revisit comfortable material. That approach can leave persistent gaps untouched. An overall score may also hide uneven performance across systems: a strong result in one area can obscure a weak result in another.

Practical fix: Check your per-topic results and identify your two weakest systems. Reserve specific study sessions for those topics before returning to stronger areas. Reassess after a focused block, then adjust the plan based on the new results. Do not treat an “on track to pass” indicator as a reason to stop reviewing weak areas; it is one checkpoint, not a guarantee of exam performance.

The PANRE Review Course has 15 body-system question modules mapped to the NCCPA PANRE Blueprint. Its PANRE Readiness Dashboard tracks attempted versus correct questions, provides a per-topic breakdown, allows question flagging and unlimited retakes, and shows an “on track to pass” indicator at 75% or higher.

For example, if Neurology is one of your weakest systems, use that module to focus your question practice and review. It includes 107 questions. The goal is not simply to complete them; it is to identify patterns in your errors and address them before exam day.

Practice question: Facial weakness

Your 55-year-old patient presents with acute right facial droop. BP is 146/86 mm Hg, HR 82/min, RR 16/min, and SaO₂ 98% on room air. The entire right side of the face is weak, including the forehead: your patient cannot raise the right eyebrow and has incomplete right eye closure. There is no arm weakness, dysarthria, or visual field deficit.

Which diagnosis best explains these findings?

A) Bell’s palsy
B) Middle cerebral artery stroke
C) Trigeminal neuralgia
D) Ramsay Hunt syndrome

Correct answer: A) Bell’s palsy. A peripheral CN VII lesion affects the upper and lower face on the involved side. A central lesion typically spares the forehead because the upper face receives bilateral cortical input. MCA stroke is less consistent with this isolated pattern; it often spares the forehead and may present with limb weakness or dysarthria. Trigeminal neuralgia causes facial pain, not facial weakness. Ramsay Hunt syndrome is associated with ear pain and vesicles.

Real-world safety point: In the ED, screen the full stroke exam before settling on Bell’s palsy. This Neurology example illustrates how a per-topic module can help you target a weak system before exam day.

Mistake 3: Leaving the post-test and CME completion until the deadline

Exam preparation and CME completion are separate tasks. If you postpone the module content, post-test, and evaluation, you may reach the activity expiration date without finishing the steps required for credit. Course access lasts 30 months, but that does not extend the approval period for the CME activity.

Practical fix: Add a CME completion date to your calendar now, ideally well before August 26, 2027, when the activity approval expires. Leave time to complete all required steps, including retaking missed questions if needed. The PANRE Clinical Review Module awards up to 100 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. To earn credit, review all module content, score 70% or higher on the post-test, and complete the evaluation. Your certificate states the precise credit earned.

The 100 AAPA Category 1 credits apply to the PANRE Review Course, not the Pharmacology Course. The activity is Comprehensive Clinical Review for Practicing PAs: 2026–27 Enduring CME Activity, AAPA reference number CME-2016187; approval is valid from August 26, 2026, through August 26, 2027.

Use the course and add-on intentionally

The PANRE Review Course with Gift Card combines exam preparation and CME in one purchase. The course includes 1,810 questions across its 15 system modules, plus five full-length 240-question mock exams (1,200 questions total), each with per-question rationales and cited sources. It also includes 10+ hours of high-yield video lectures with downloadable slides. A money-back guarantee applies to eligible purchasers who do not pass on their first attempt; see the course terms for details.

Amazon and Apple gift cards are paid add-ons, not free gifts. Choose a $100–$1,500 option in $100 tiers at checkout. The add-on cost is added to the course price, allowing the package to be purchased in one transaction with CME funds, subject to your employer’s policy. Gift cards are emailed within 2–3 business days; you do not need to finish the course first. Gift card packages are nonrefundable, and CME Review Courses is not affiliated with Amazon or Apple.

If you purchase two or more CME courses, a 20% discount applies automatically to each course; gift card add-ons remain at face value. Total Program Access, which includes all 14 modules, is $2,999.99. Group discounts are available for groups of 15 or more by quote.

For a preview before purchasing, try the free PANRE test drive. For exam administration dates, check NCCPA key dates.

Credit notes: Nurse practitioners should verify with their state board of nursing whether AAPA Category 1 credit is accepted for renewal; acceptance varies by state. For physicians, this activity meets AAPA Category 1 requirements, but is reported as Category 2 CME for physicians’ own reporting. If you are comparing PANCE prep courses, note that this product is specifically a PANRE review course.

A simple final-60-day approach

  • Days 60–45: Take a timed baseline block. Review errors and identify your two weakest systems.
  • Days 44–21: Prioritize those systems with targeted modules and timed practice. Keep reviewing missed questions.
  • Days 20–8: Shift toward mixed blocks and mock exam practice. Review persistent gaps rather than repeatedly studying only familiar content.
  • Final week: Confirm your exam logistics and finish any remaining CME requirements well before the activity expiration date.

The most useful final-weeks plan is active, targeted, and scheduled. Answer questions under time pressure, let topic-level results guide your review, and put CME completion on the calendar.
