Daily CME Tips: Amazon or Apple? How to Choose Your Paid Gift Card Add-On When You Buy a PANRE Review Course Worth 100 Category 1 AAPA Credits

PANRE Review Course: $499.99 for 30 months of access
Course content: 2,500+ board-style practice questions
CME: Up to 100 AAPA Category 1 credits through the PANRE Clinical Review Module
Important: Amazon and Apple gift cards are PAID add-ons, not free gifts. The amount you choose is added to the course price at checkout.

The Amazon-versus-Apple decision is mostly about what you’ll actually use. Amazon may suit you if your planned purchases span a broad range of Amazon products. Apple may fit better if you regularly buy Apple products, apps, subscriptions, or services. Neither choice changes the course content or its CME credit.

Both add-ons are available in $100–$1,500 tiers, and the available choices appear at checkout. The full selected amount is added to your purchase price. Since these CME gift cards are nonrefundable once emailed, choose the brand and amount deliberately.

Amazon vs. Apple: A quick comparison

Typical fit You regularly shop on Amazon across different product categories You regularly purchase Apple products, apps, subscriptions, or services
Amount $100–$1,500; tier options appear at checkout $100–$1,500; tier options appear at checkout
Cost Paid add-on; card amount is added to the course price Paid add-on; card amount is added to the course price
Delivery Emailed within 2–3 business days of purchase Emailed within 2–3 business days of purchase
Refunds No refunds on gift-card packages No refunds on gift-card packages

Choose Amazon if you already know you’ll use the balance for Amazon purchases. Choose Apple if you have a specific Apple purchase or regular Apple spending in mind. If neither brand matches your normal spending, you can choose not to add a card.

The brand question is usually smaller than people make it. The useful question is whether you’ll use the card, and whether the added cost fits your budget and your employer’s policy.

The 100-credit value: what the course awards, and what you need to do

The PANRE Review Course with Gift Card includes the PANRE Clinical Review Module, which awards up to 100 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Those credits apply to this PANRE Review Course only, not to the Pharmacology course.

The activity is Comprehensive Clinical Review for Practicing PAs: 2026–27 Enduring CME Activity. Its AAPA reference number is CME-2016187, and its approval runs from August 26, 2026, to August 26, 2027. That expiration is a real deadline: the course offers 30 months of access, but the activity’s approval period ends on August 26, 2027. Check the activity status and complete its credit requirements within the applicable approval period.

To earn credit, you must:

  1. Review all module content.
  2. Complete the module post-test with a score of 70% or higher. You may retake missed questions.
  3. Complete the activity evaluation.

Once both the post-test and evaluation are complete, you’ll receive a certificate stating the precise amount of credit earned. Claim only credit commensurate with your participation.

The course includes 15 body-system question modules mapped to the NCCPA PANRE Blueprint, five full-length 240-question mock exams with rationales and cited sources, downloadable lecture slides, and a PANRE Readiness Dashboard with topic tracking and unlimited retakes. For example, the EENT module contains 181 questions.

Separately, the program-level accreditation statement covers 14 modules and designates up to 468.75 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. That is the full program total, not the credit amount for this individual PANRE Review Course.

NCCPA requires PAs to earn and log at least 100 CME credits per two-year cycle, including at least 50 Category 1 credits. Review the NCCPA CME requirements for your current cycle and documentation rules. Physicians should note that although this activity meets AAPA Category 1 requirements, it counts as Category 2 CME for their own reporting. Nurse practitioners should verify with their state board of nursing whether AAPA Category 1 credit is accepted for renewal.

The one question that should drive your gift-card tier

How much of your CME allowance is left, and when does it reset?

Start with the course’s $499.99 base price, then check how much of your allowance remains for a paid add-on. If you have a limited balance after the course cost, a smaller card, or no card, may be the better fit. If you have more available, choose a tier only if you expect to use that amount with the selected brand.

Then check the reset date and the written terms of your employer’s CME policy. Some employers may restrict how CME funds can be used, including purchases that include a gift-card add-on. Confirm the policy before checkout; don’t assume the add-on will qualify for reimbursement. Also remember that gift-card packages are nonrefundable.

At checkout, the selected card amount is added to the course price. The card is emailed within 2–3 business days of purchase; you do not have to finish the course first. The website is not affiliated with or sponsored by Amazon or Apple.

Practice question: acute angle-closure glaucoma

You are evaluating a 64-year-old with sudden unilateral eye pain, redness, blurred vision, halos around lights, headache, and nausea. Vitals are BP 154/88 mm Hg, HR 96 bpm, RR 18/min, T 36.8°C, and SaO₂ 99% on room air. The affected eye has a hazy cornea and a mid-dilated, nonreactive pupil. What is the most appropriate next step?

A. Start topical antibiotic drops and arrange routine follow-up.
B. Treat with oral NSAIDs and reassess tomorrow.
C. Arrange emergent ophthalmology referral for immediate pressure-lowering management.
D. Order outpatient head CT before deciding on treatment.

Correct answer: C. Arrange emergent ophthalmology referral for immediate pressure-lowering management. The findings are consistent with acute angle-closure glaucoma, a time-sensitive ophthalmic emergency that can threaten vision.

  • A is incorrect: Topical antibiotics do not address the elevated intraocular pressure.
  • B is incorrect: NSAIDs alone do not treat the underlying emergency, and waiting risks vision.
  • D is incorrect: Do not delay urgent ophthalmic care for outpatient imaging when the presentation points to acute angle closure.

Exam note: Recognize the combination of a painful red eye, halos, nausea, hazy cornea, and fixed mid-dilated pupil. Prioritize emergent ophthalmology management rather than treating this as uncomplicated conjunctivitis.

This topic is covered in the course’s 181-question EENT module, alongside the other systems mapped to the NCCPA PANRE Blueprint.

Choose the card you’ll use

If Amazon is where you expect to shop, select Amazon. If your purchases are in Apple’s ecosystem, select Apple. Match the tier to the amount you have available after the course price, and confirm your employer’s policy before paying. The add-on is paid and nonrefundable; the CME credit comes from completing the accredited course activity.

View the PANRE Review Course and choose an Amazon or Apple gift card add-on at checkout. You can also try the PANRE test drive before deciding. If you’ve been comparing pance prep courses, note that this course is specifically designed for PANRE review and also offers the stated CME activity.
